I’m a travel and nature photographer with a gift for finding surprising beauty in the most unexpected places. I grew up in the heavy steel era of Pittsburgh and developed my first roll of film when I was six years old. That environment taught me to look beyond the surface and dig deep – to find hidden wonders in the most unlikely situations. I’ve been all over the world pursuing this vision but I’ve found the real needs are much closer to my home here in Colorado.
There are large areas of great beauty in the central United States that are coming under great pressure to be appropriated and exploited out of existence for short term gain. Often, these areas are presumed to be unworthy of preservation because their inherent beauty is hidden just below the surface. My ambition is to highlight this subtle elegance and present it to a broad audience in a way that unmistakably illustrates the need to preserve these places for future generations.
My work includes both large format prints for placement in the home as well as photography used in printed materials and online sites of related organizations.
